Taste of the Tropics - Jackfruit & Breadfruit

Taste of the Tropics November is here with the theme of Jackfruit & Breadfruit.

Both of these fruits are native to Southeast Asia and can be used both as a sweet or a savory item.  Closely related to each other, they were exported to different parts of the world.  While jackfruit is more commonly used in South Asia and East Africa, breadfruit is more common in West Africa & the Caribbean.

When green, this is commonly used in curries and stews.  When ripe, they can be used in desserts.

For an example of one of my previous breadfruit recipes, see my Breadfruit Puffs recipe here.
